What we've built so far
NeatInvoice is a local-first invoicing workspace for creating, sending, and following up on client work. This page records what is available now and the few areas we are exploring next.

Latest releases
Recent updates are shown with the dates they were shipped. Older capabilities remain below.
Studio owners can invite up to four collaborators, with the owner included in the five-person account-wide limit. Members can create and edit invoices, estimates, recurring schedules, clients, items, reminders, payments, and shared invoice images. Team uses one member role; owners keep control of workspace settings, invitations, and removals.
Same invoice editor you already use, plus a live link for accept or decline with an optional note, then one step to convert to a real invoice. Focused on independent professionals, not full quote software.
Open Notifications from the workspace header on desktop and mobile. Needs attention surfaces overdue invoices, drafts, engagement follow-ups, and recurring setup. Recent activity stores client views, email delivery, reminders, recurring runs, and subscription updates.
In Share, turn on payment reminders and add up to three stages after the due date. Each stage has default copy you can edit in any language. Delivery status appears in Share next to manual sends.
Open Invoices and Overview with ⌘⇧1/2. Duplicate invoices with ⌘E, toggle preview with ⌘⇧P, open Share with ⌘⇧S, download PDF with ⌘⇧D. Press ? to see every shortcut.
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) or use Search in the workspace header. Open an invoice, schedule, or library tab with your query prefilled — scoped to your active business workspace.
Available capabilities
Select a row for details.
Workspace
Create, organize, and move through billing work quickly.
Try NeatInvoice on the guest invoice tool with drafts saved in your browser.
Invoice wording is separate from the app interface. Number formatting follows the invoice.
Your preference is remembered and can follow your system on first visit.
Switch workspaces from the shell header. Each one keeps its own currency, invoice language, numbering, and payment fields.
PDFs generate in your browser from the same data as the invoice.
Finance
See what was paid, what is owed, and what needs attention.
Overview shows paid this month, still owed, overdue, what is coming due, revenue over time, and top clients and services. Open documents retain their own Activity timeline for follow-up details.
Sync & library
Reuse your records and keep work available across devices.
Edits are captured immediately. When signed in, a save indicator shows sync status.
Sign in on any device to pick up where you left off. Duplicate invoice numbers are prevented within each workspace.
Client list scoped to each workspace, with search and load-more for long lists. Syncs to your account when signed in.
The library stores description and rate — you choose quantity on the invoice.
Sending & reminders
Deliver invoices, track engagement, and follow up consistently.
On Solo and above, schedule reminder stages in Share. Reminders need a sent or overdue invoice, client email, and a published live link.
Paid plans email from Share with sensible rate limits. Messages show amount, invoice reference, and a View & Pay button — no PDF attachment.
Clients see the same layout as Client Preview. View count and last opened time appear in Share.
Build a template invoice, choose frequency, and pause until you are ready to go live. Optionally email clients each time a new invoice is created.
In Share, open Client activity for a chronological timeline: live link views, manual email with delivery checkmarks, and each payment reminder stage. The same details remain available from the document Activity tab for quick follow-up.
Payments
Give clients clear ways to pay and record collection details.
Add payment links in the invoice footer alongside bank details. On mobile, clients see a sticky pay button when links are set.
What we're exploring
These areas come from customer feedback. They are directions, not release commitments or promised dates.
We are exploring improvements that shorten the path from sending an invoice to recording what was collected. The exact scope will follow real customer feedback rather than a fixed public commitment.
Possible improvements include more document customization and support for billing details that vary by profession or region. We will keep the paper output reliable and focused.
We are considering a small set of integrations around sent, viewed, and paid events. We will add them only where customer demand is clear, rather than building a broad API platform first.
